It’s one thing after another here

Damn, I’m really not on top of this posting thing. I did wonder if I should maybe schedule in the need to update this blog, into my normal day and exercising routine. But I feel that this blog would then become more of a chore; more like work, than something fun to do in my spare time.

Anyhow, since my last post – funnily enough the day after it was published, in fact – I managed to safely grab Azula and put her back in her vivarium. That was a stressful and awful predicament for everyone involved and I’m just glad that, during her escapist days, Azula got through it unharmed.

Our attentions then turned to one of my leopard geckos – Citrine, who hasn’t eaten for a few months. I hadn’t thought much of the lack of appetite that she was showing because my other female leopard gecko – Zeph – also hadn’t been eating for a few months. However, once back from my travels in Canada, I could see the physical difference between the two – Zeph had retained her weight, while City looked slimmer than she had before I left.

After a vet visit, where we came away none the wiser over the cause of her lack of appetite, City was prescribed a few medications that I am currently administrating to her as best as my untrained self can. Most importantly, I was given this slurry type of food that I need to force feed her with, through a syringe. Not pleasant for her or me, but I’m glad of it because at least she is getting some nutrients down now.

And then today – the 20th of October – on our dog walk, we came across a poorly pigeon struggling on the path. I couldn’t leave him alone out there, waiting for a dog or fox attack, so I obviously took him home in the hopes that one of knowledgeable volunteers from the local wildlife rescue would come and take care of him.

No one is currently available to come and collect him. So we have a young pigeon taking up residency in the downstairs bathroom.

His name is Paladin.
