December the 1st. Damn, how time flies.
It feels like yesterday that I was working my retail job, with no end in sight; interview after failed interview and I wasn’t getting anywhere. Not that I knew what to do with my Film Studies degree anyway.
And then, suddenly finding myself in Canada, rather abruptly, working at a Canadian Summer Camp due to an interview that I’d managed to not fail at…
It had it’s ups and downs, and so to, did the volunteering stint that I did at a hostel on the Cabot Trail for a month after.
And now we find ourselves in December. I am none the wiser of what I want to do in life – though I know I have an interest in traveling now, and seeing the world as much as I can, while I can. I want to experience as many different cultures as possible, and meet so many different people.
I hope that traveling will help me find something that sticks; something that won’t make me feel hopeless about life – and hopefully not make me feel that I’m trapped in the endless monotony.
Like retail made me feel.
Anyway, here’s hoping.
